Deathblade was going through a bit of depression. Zero just
straight up left her, afterall. Sure, she didn't have strong
feelings towards him, other than good friends. But he left her
to be a single mother, something that she never wanted to be. He
also left her confused and hurt. And while all of these emotions
swam in her, she couldn't find a way around her pride to let
them all out.
So now the queen sat, hunched over the lake and staring at her
reflection. Staring at her eye-socket and other green eye. She
stared at the tears that slowly crept from her eye and dripped
into the lake. After a few seconds, se clenched her jaw to hold
in her sobs. Death hated what a sob-story she became, but she
couldn't help it.

Tigereye had been out for a walk when he saw Death sitting by
the lake. He couldn't see what she was doing but went to join
her regardless. He liked spending time with her, much more than
he did with others. "Hello Death-" He meowed coming up to her
but cutting off when he saw she was crying. Immediately he felt
rather uncomfortable. How was one supposed to deal with this
exactly? "Um. Are you alright?" Dumb question. Of course she
wasn't alright. She was crying, stupid. "What's wrong?" He crept
closer to her, wanting to comfort her and having absolutely no
idea how whatsoever.

The fur on the queen's back prickled when she heard his voice.
She quickly blinked a tear out of her eye and stood up straight.
"Of course I'm okay..." she held in all the sarcasm she could,
not wanting to scare away the tom. "I'm just... upset."
Deathblade turned her face to him, the only evidence of her
crying was the single wet trail that went down her cheek. When
he asked what was wrong, she realized she had two options. Tell
him the truth, or scare him off... the truth sounded better.
"Zero left me, Tiger." She put simply. "He left me to be a
single mother." She decided to leave out the fact that he
revealed his love for her.

He couldn't help but make a face at the news. Yet another reason
to dislike Zero. "That's his lost then. I don't think you need
him." He wasn't really sure where he was getting this or where
it was going but whatever. He was running with it. "You're
strong enough without him and if you need help you have people
who care about you for when you need them." Yup. No idea where
this was coming from but he was definately riding it out. To a
point beyond that, he meant it. She was stronger than most cats
he knew and even if no one else did, he'd help her out however
he could. Gosh what was wrong with him. Emotions were so weird.

Deathblade let out a huff of air, being a little stubborn. She
had to admit that he was right; she could do without Zero. But
her kits couldn't, which would render them yet another
fatherless litter. That made her a bit upset as well, not that
she would admit it. The queen straightened her back and flicked
her ear, turning to face him completely. She then focused on his
second comment. "You think I'm strong?" She asked, trying to
keep a goofy smile from appearing on her face. Instead a little
smirk grew. "Funny joke. Didn't you just see me crying a few
minutes ago?"

"Everyone cries. There's nothing weak about it." Part of his
brain was pointing out how crying was a good thing. He'd figured
out that this was not the time though. He'd say that he'd cried
before to prove his point but that would be a lie. A giant lie.

Deathblade frowned a bit. "Does being a medicine cat give you
ancient wisdom or something?" She joked, before attempting to
paw his shoulder.

Deathblade purred a bit, stalling the moment so she could think.
To a she-cat, this would be the perfect moment to confess their
interest to the other. Beautiful scenery, great conversation...
but there was still the fact that she didn't know if he liked
her back... Oh well, she was going to find out now. The black
she-cat didn't want to waste the moment after all! "Uhm...
Tigereye..." she started off, finding the words as she went on.
"I just wanted to know... uhm..." Death flicked her tail and
pricked her ears, just letting the question out. "Do you like
me? Because, I have feelings for you and..." she flattened her
ears an didn't continue.

It took Tiger a moment before he realized what she had just
said, his eyes going wide when he did. She liked him? He didn't
think she did, or why for that matter. He was a pretty awkward
and weird dude. To a point beyond that, did he return the
sentiment? He did like her, certainly more than most others
but... He didn't know if he felt that way about her. He thought
he did based on his reaction, raised heartbeat, dialated pupils
among all the other sighs. However that could just as easily be
a nervous reaction at this point in time. Based on past
experiences though, it was there as well. It was a long moment
before he answered. "Yes. I think so."
