Poppy seeds. They sounded familiar. Lily was no whiz at this;
after all this was the first time she'd ever taken an interest
in herbs. But she was no spring chicken either. She knew full
well what poppy seeds were. "Don't they dull pain and help cats
sleep?"she blurted out.

Lily had a good imagination; she could think of many reasons why
queens shouldn't eat those things.
