HERE'S TO NEVER GROWING UP ! ( open - fox on territory )
       By: Raven` Date: December 14, 2013, 3:13 pm

( this thread is majorly retro - set once fc finds their new
camp grounds and are still fighting off those who live there
((assuming there will be)) hope no one minds this c: )
Avril was a young arctic fox pup. Her white coat was built for
the snow, and the only thing to tell her different from the snow
was her protruding coal-black nose. Another thing would've been
her eyes, if they hadn't stayed blue since she was a pup. They
should've turned to a dark brown or black, but they only grew
paler, giving the hint that she was blind.
Let me go into her history before you begin judging her. First
of all, she was the runt. The smallest and the weakest. Her
mother and father saw no potential in her, so they left her in
the cold wild to die and took her stronger brothers and sisters
away. She would've died, too, if it wasn't for an extremely kind
polar bear who had recently lost her cubs due to sickness. The
bear brought her back to her paws and was still raising her,
until the sickness that took the polar bear cubs took the
mother. And, again, Avril was left alone. And it wasn't easy
       being blind and small.
Avril relied on her remaining senses, like hearing and scent, to
locate the closest thing she could to a civilization. Her nose
touched the cold ground as an unfamiliar scent washed over her.
       What were these things?

Simbapaw was walking around when he spotted Avril. The
apprentice grew afraid, but took a few small steps forward.
       "H-Hello?"

Avril's ears pricked and she rose her head from the ground. Her
blind eyes bore into his pelt, and she knew that because his
scent was right there. She sniffed the air and padded forward
carelessly, curious. She attempted to sniff his forehead. "What
       are you?"

Uh... I'm a cat. I'm Simbapaw, but I prefer just Simba..." He
smiled a little, even though the young fox couldn't see it.

"A... cat?" She continued to sniff him, running her nose down
his back and to the end of his tail, trying to build a mental
picture. Long tail, medium body but strong build, thick head...
she could be wrong, she could be right. But until he described
himself to her, that was her image of him. "I heard of cats, but
never met one before." She commented, flicking her ear and
listening for others. "I'm Avril. It is nice to meet you,
Simba." The blind pup searched for his cheek and attempted to
give it a lick, in greeting.

       OOC~ OMG YES
Simba's smile grew wider. "You too, Avril." The former
medicine-assistant also had some extra fluff down his neck, so
it looked a little like he was growing a mane.

Avril put on a small smile and sat down in front of him. "Are
there other... cats around?" She asked, hesitating to find the
word. "I mean, I know they're there. They have the same scent as
you." She tried her best to rest her gaze on his. That was the
one thing she had trouble with; looking another in the eyes. She
could tell if they were in front of her from her sense of
hearing and smell, but the direction their head was pointing was
       a mystery to her.

"Well... There are other cats here, they may be close by." Simba
       replied.
