Decembersnow was resting on the edge of the clearing, her usual
bright eyes and big grin toned down to dull eyes and a
disappointed frown. She was down in the dumps because it seemed
that her relationship with leader was dwindling. Though, she
couldn't blame him. She was a munchkin cat. That meant her legs
were short, stubby, and ugly. He could easily get a cat that was
normal, couldn't he? For all she knew, he could've done so
already.

Coalstar wandered around the Seven stones' clearing, somewhat
lost in thought as he stared blankly at the ground in front of
him. He thought he was starting to grow soft inside. He knew he
was. But he couldn't help it, he couldn't live without love,
unlike his stubborn brother who thought otherwise. All he could
think about was Decembersnow, and his kits. They were growing
distant, and he didn't like it one bit. He wanted to shamelessly
embrace her again, but now he wasn't so sure how she felt about
him. Did she still love him like she used to? Ugh, he should
have thought about this. The AshClan leader never really
prepared himself for a long-distance relationship like this. She
was a medicine cat from FrozenClan for StarClan's sake! What the
hell was he thinking? He shook his head vigorously for a moment
or two. No, he didn't regret becoming mates with Decembersnow.
Not at all. His time with her was probably the best moments in
his life. Wait, it definitely was. Ah, she was his life, he
knew. He could never stop thinking about her, but did she feel
the same way?
Soon the sweet, oh so precious scent of the pure white lover
reached him. Coalstar attempted to relieve himself of the stress
of talking to her again. He wanted to be relaxed, not stressed
out about the crazy events shrieking at him. The earthquake, his
brother, the fear of losing his mate, and kits, he wanted it all
gone. The heavy tom breathed in deeply, and then let it go into
the dusty air. "Here I go..." he whispered silently to himself,
trotting across the path towards his beloved mate. Soon, very
soon, the AshClanner found himself stepping across the
borderline of the gathering place where Decembersnow laid by
herself. "Deccy!" he purred, carefully approaching her in hopes
to get a cheerful smile from the anxious face instead of a jump
of temporary fright from his booming voice, which he actually
aimed to say quietly. He just couldn't hold in the excitement
inside himself, begging to be let free. Luckily he was more
joyful than nervous.

Decembersnow was definitely surprised. What were the chances of
thinking about the handsome tom, and then him appearing from no
where? Apparently, it was a big chance. The white munchkin put
on a little smile as she began to speak. "Coally~" she purred,
still a bit ashamed she couldn't come up for a better nickname
for her mate. Well, if he was still her mate. She rolled onto
her paws and stood up. "You sure sound excited." She commented,
trying to strike up a small conversation. She sat herself down
again, not finding one position she was comfortable in. Was it
because she was in a leader's presence? Her mate's presence? Or
just plain uncomfortable with how she looked altogether?
It was probably all of the above. "What for?" She asked, tipping
her head to the side slightly. She was referring to why he was
so excited. I mean, why would he be excited? She was small,
weak, from an enemy Clan... he couldn't be excited about her,
could he? Then what was he excited about?

[size=7pt]Coalstar felt his heart sink when his eyes met her
face. She didn't seem as happy to see him as he had hoped. He
sighed mentally, wondering if he actually deserved this reaction
for not visiting her as often as a committed mate should. But he
was very devoted to her, he would never betray her for another
she-cat, whether for love or lust. Well, he decided he wasn't
going to let the slight uncertainty in her eyes bring him down
and he kept up the eager attitude. Maybe it was just that it
wasn't so easy for her to feel comfortable around him again,
since they haven't really met like this in quite a while.
Though, it became even more difficult than he thought. As she
continued to speak, he tried so hard to keep her words from
offending himself. What for...? What do you think?! His ears
flattened, but he forced his sweet smile to stay. He was always
excited whenever he came to see the FrozenClan medicine cat, so
what did she think was so different now that he shouldn't be
happy to be with his love again? "To see you, of course!" he
chuckled, reaching forward to touch his nose to hers. "Are you
alright, love? You look down," he inquired, now more concerned
and curious than ever. He didn't want to lose her.

"See me?" She tipped her head to the side slightly before
returning to her normal posture. She just found it difficult to
think that he was excited to see her. "I'm sorry I'm not as
enthusiastic as you are, then. I'm just... worried for many
reasons." Deccy gave his cheek a lick before attempting a change
of subject. "So, are you looking forward to the trip?"

Coalstar nodded, relaxing his tense shoulders. "You're right,"
he meowed, rushing his tongue over her ivory ear before stepping
back and sitting down. He didn't think about how stressed the
medicine cat could be. I mean, you'd think every medic was under
a lot of pressure, because the earthquake could definitely cause
a large amount of injuries, and even death. Though he still
couldn't help but feel that she didn't put him first, then
again, maybe her Clan was more important? The AshClan leader
shook his head mentally. Just...try to spend some time with your
mate. She still loves you, he assured himself, although feeling
it was stupid, he had to do something to keep him from worrying
about where they relationship was going. "The trip? No, not
really," he grumbled softly. "We don't know where we're going,
we're vulnerable, and we have to travel with everyone else. You
know I love the opportunity to see you and the kits,
but...Icestar...and hungry, complaining, sweaty crowds for who
knows how long."

"But think about the upsides. The chance to get to know other
Clans and become allies. The chance to see new places. The
chance to actually speak to some of your kits!" For the little
moment, Deccy's face was lit up with excitement. She wanted to
explore before. But exploring got her into the Clan business.
Few know, but Deccy was once a kitty-pet. She was a snotty rich
girl's pet before deciding to run off. And because of that, her
front paws are clawless. Anyone remember that tidbit of
information? It was forever ago since it was mentioned, and its
weird to think of now. To think of the reason she has to be a
medic. To think of the thing that got her kidnapped in the first
place. The thing that caused her to meet the love of her life...
To sappy. Decembersnow stood light on her toes, eyes still
starkling as she let a little smile onto her maw. "Come on, you
have to be at least a bit excited!"

Coalstar sighed, glancing down at his paws and then at his mate.
It was difficult to think of a reason to be eager for their
journey, besides the fact that he could spend some time with his
family, he still had to be present with the Clans for most of
the day so his own Clan didn't panic. Of course he expected his
deputy and experts to help lead the way, but they weren't active
enough. That ticked him off. And even if they were, if he was
seen hanging around the FrozenClan medicine cat while a
FrozenClanner, or even worse, Icestar happened to walk by...Oh
boy, was he in for something when everyone found their
territories.
Still, he tried to think on the bright side, like Decembersnow
said. He didn't want to seem grumpy in front of his mate, and if
excitement for this trip makes her happy, oh well. He would have
to try. Coalstar shifted his position, blinking his green orbs a
couple times. Was he really this bummed out about traveling?
Because when he first started the Clan, he knew, he was always
ready and yearning for adventure and war. Every day his claws
ached to sink into the throats of his enemies, but now that he
had a family, someone to look after and care for, he seemed to
be losing his ambition.
These thoughts attempted to urge him on. This chance he had to
live again, he wasn't going to throw it away and complain the
whole way. If sightseeing wasn't what he was hoping for, at
least he could listen to his love and try to gain more allies
with this opportunity. So, he ended up giving the hopeful medic
a small nod of his head. "Maybe a little bit," he murmured,
pulling on a faint smirk while his tail slowly tried to wrap
around hers.

Decembersnow giggled quietly, stretching up to give his cheek a
lick. "Its nice of you to make an effort." She commented,
settling down beside him. The more she spoke to him, the more
she was assured that their relationship was rekindling. And his
small, yet effective gestures made sure that he was trying his
hardest. The white female flicked her ear. "What type of
territory are you going to look for when we get there? The same
thing? Or something different?" She was curious - plus, she
already knew the round-abouts on what Icestar was doing.
Something realy cold and hard to maneuver on.
