Akita layed beside her mother as the old lady died from a snake
bite. She cried softly, not wanting to disturb the rest of the
Community with some annoying sobs. For all she knew, half of
them didn't care about the queen's death, or didn't know.

Hallow saw Akita crying and opened his maw to say something
before seeing the Queen, dying. He slowly walked over, sitting
beside Akita, upset but not wanting to show it.

Akita flicked her ear, to show him she noticed he was there.
After a few good moments, she opened her dry mouth to speak.
"Shes to young, Hallow. Way to young..." she complained quietly.
"This shouldn't have happened!"

Hallow sighed and murmured, "I know, Akita. She should have had
more time." When he paused, he was just thinking about what to
say. "You know," he began, "it's alright to be upset. Nobody
will become angry if you end up crying."

The panther choked back a sob anyways, shaking her head. "I'm
not going to cry. I refuse to do so."

Sean sighed thoughtfully as he traced his claws over the dirt
(assuming they live outside), feeling unusually sad. It wasn't
hard to tell why, especially because he was sensitive to other's
emotions. And now, the queen was dying, and the air surrounding
him was heavy with depression.
Serena curled up underneath the dappling shade of the tree, the
thick speckles of dark shadows from the leaves and light glow
from the sun swayed back and forth over her gray brindle pelt.
Her deep brown gaze stared blankly into nothingness with no
emotion.
Peanut scurried up the back of the coarse-furred black bear and
then stopped to sit upon of his large head. Her nose bounced
around in the air several times to bring in the scents and
happenings around, but nothing good came out of it. The wide
orbs were clouded with confusion.

Akita shook one last time before heaving herself onto her paws.
"I don't... want to. But I have to." she murmured, nudging the
dead body once more, to assure that it was dead, before walking
over to the announce rock. "Community! The queen is dead." the
usually fun loving she-cat put bluntly, ears flat against her
skull.

The bear turned around, resting his gaze on the panther stepping
up to speak. So it was true, the queen had passed. Sean bowed
his head and flattened his big rounds ears with sadness and
respect for the death of their leader.
Serena, hearing the call of the princess, stood up slowly,
though her eyes were wide with surprise. That...that was
horrible. She held in a whimper of sorrow as she made her way
over to the other animals gathered around the boulder where
Akita stood.
Peanut, still atop Sean's head, laid down and nuzzled him
comfortingly, now looking up at Akita.

"And as her daughter, I shall take my place as queen." she
continued. "It will be a long while before I will choose someone
to rule beside me, as I would like to handle the community on my
own shoulders before I burden anyone else. I apologize for any
mistakes I might make in the future." she looked down at her
paws, before looking up again. [b]"Sean, can you and Hallow
bring the queen to the burial ground? We shall bury her beside
her husband at dusk."

Hallow nodded to Akits, bowing his head out of respect to the
new Queen and the former Queen. "Of course."
