"I'm trying to sleep here," she grumbled, wiggling around to
push her off. She immediately buried her face in her paws again
to cover any traces of tears.

Owlfeather slid off her bud and instead sat next to her. She
narrowed her yellow eyes. Nothing escaped the all knowing hoot
bird. "Hey Empty, would you go back to camp? I'd like to talk to
Stream alone for a bit."

I'm not gonna talk to you if that's what you want, she thought,
sending the she-cat the message through her telepathy. I'm
totally fine, bt dubs. She narrowed her eyes angrily under her
paws. Why couldn't they just leave her alone? Stop probing,
questioning, and judging? Maybe she didn't want to spill out all
her secrets or let anyone know she was sad. Couldn't they let
her have some privacy? Augh, Owlfeather annoyed her more than
ever now.

Emptypromises narrowed his eyes. He slowly nodded, but before he
left, he used his telepathy to talk to Streamflow quickly. The
tom knew why she seemed so sad lately, now. Don't get upset,
Streamflow. You'll find someone else that you'll care about more
than me. The over-sized cat risked a glance back at her before
leaving them alone.

She didn't respond to Eppy, pretending she didn't even have
telepathy. She hated how he was on to her crush on him. How
embarrassing! The she-cat mumbled to Owlfeather, "I'm not
answering you. I don't have to tell anyone anything and you
can't make me."

laid down next to Streamflow. "I can't help you with anything

"No." Helping makes things worse which isn't helping if you know

swam to the other side. "Just leave me alone."
