Whitepaw mentally smiled, liking the way Papermario thought. She
had wondered before why Icestar had chosen such a friendly and
sweet tom, she figured out it was probably for his loyalty and
protection over the Clan. He fit the position very well. As the
tom offered to join her on an herb search, slight blush rose on
her cheeks and then grew redder as he mentioned the easily
explained pregnancies and scarred minds. She hated the thought
of something like that happening to her, mostly because of her
promise to Decembersnow, but also because she knew it would
effect her emotions very badly. "Oh, um, yes. That's very kind
of you," she answered, putting on a pretty little smile and
pushing away the frightening subject.

helped him and now he'd help her. well, he would help her even
if she didn't, but he assumed that because he was deputy. he
always felt like he had to protect everybody, but he never knew
why. it was probably just his personality.[/font][/center]

Whitepaw dipped her head politely before leading the way out of
camp, and her simple walking pace slowly formed into a content
prance out of the frozen caves. "Were you surprised when you
were announced deputy?" she asked out of the blue. It was mostly
just to start a conversation, but she was a little curious even
though it was a pretty obvious answer.

The way they continued to compliment each other encouraged her
so much. She could feel happiness and pride well up in herself
and she just couldn't stop smiling. Of course, he was quite
friendly to everyone, so Whitepaw tried not to think of it as
something special between them. And the thought of her having a
mate someday made her happy and sad at the same time. She always
dreamed of raising a family with a tom who loved her for the way
she was, but then again, she would have broken Decembersnow's
promise. Then an idea popped in her head. If she never had kits,
she wouldn't be in trouble, right? Mates don't always have kits.
However, Whitepaw soon interrupted her thoughts after realizing
how much she was getting ahead of herself. She blinked once to
shoot her back to reality and blush formed on her soft white
cheeks. "I still have lots of training ahead of me, though, I
hope I can reach Decembersnow's expectations someday," she
replied modestly.
