He ran for a rabbit burrow, embedding himself in the sandy hole
until he could barely be seen. Poppykit's unenthusiastic tone
didn't unnerve him; she could be a Negative Nancy all she
wanted.

nearby, concealing himself perfectly with his molted brown fur.
