She stuffed her hands in her pockets and walked behind him,
slowly. She listened to the sounds around them, smiling. Birds
were chirping, and mice were squeaking.

He made room for her beside him, and then suddenly heard a loud
yelp. Immediately he abandoned her, running off the trail in the
direction of the sound.

Pheo stopped completely, watching him run off. She blinked a few
times before running after him, catching up. [i]I should really
try out for track.

There was another yelp beside him. Evan turned, seeing the
animal beside him and then looking down and seeing the wolf pup.
He didn't want the wolf to die. So the only thing he could do
was attack the thing attacking the pup. Which just so happened
to be a lynx. He backed away, grabbing a sharp rock and throwing
it at the large cat. It hit it right in the eye and the cat
lunged at him, just barely missing him. Evan quickly grabbed the
pup and ran from the lynx.

She stood behind him, eyes wide. "What... is it?" she asked, not
able to see the entire wolf pup.

He quickly turned back to her after scaring it off. Evan held
the wolf pup close, but gently as to not touch the wounds
inflicted upon it. "Wolf."

The female panted and looking at the wolf, kneeling down and
holding out her hand for it to sniff. [b]"I thought mother
wolves didn't leave their pups behind."

He kept holding the wolf, gently cooing to it and stroking its
head. "Unless they know its dangerous and are chased off or are
hunting for their pups." Evan looked over to her. "We should get
it back to the school. You can help it, right?"

"I never really worked on an animal, but it doesn't seem like
its cuts are any different from ones of a humans." she attempted
to pet the wolf pup, smiling.

The pup chewed on her finger gently.
Evan smiled. He stood up, and said, "Then let's head back and
treat this pup."
