He smiled and dove into the water, looking around to find
something. he stayed under for a while, and eventually came up
with an oyster.

She held the oyster in her hands and watched it, as if it was

"Four years?" she wondered why he would be watching it for so
long. Pheo attempted to pry the oyster open, biting her lip as
she did so. She was afraid of breaking it. Finally, she opened
it enough just to see the inside.

He took it from her, and reached in. Evan peeked in, then found
what he was looking for. He pulled the pearl out, then put it
back in the water. The boy handed her the pearl.

Pheo blinked quite a few times. "Wow. I didn't know oysters gave
pearls!" she exclaimed, looking up at him once again with a
bright smile. She clamped the pearl in her hand so she wouldn't
lose it. [b]"How do you know all these things?"

He grinned. "Research. I told you I love studying animals. So
ever since I was in third grade I watched this oyster until the
pearl would be completed."
