Everything is Never as it Seems (OPEN)

[center]Night was approaching quickly as Sandman padded down the
Ashclan Frozenclan boarder. The snow and pines had given way to
shrug bushes and coarse dirt. And then he found the kit. The
poor thing had unwittingly crossed the boarder and was terrified
to find Sandy sneaking up behind him. It broke Sandman's heart
to see a younger cat look at him that way.
So he drew. He led the kit into Ashclan territory with trails of
fairy dust and nudges from warm hearted lions. The happiness on
that kits face made him feel as though he could do anything.
This wasnt the case. Sandy had only just reached the scent
marker when it happened. An owl, out for an early flight,
snatched the kit right in front of his eyes. This would not
stand! He lept at the feathered beast and managed to give it a
good cut on the wing before it got away from him. That would
make things easier as it could no longer fly high enough to
escape him.
He chased that owl long and hard. It would not have that kit! At
last he brought it down for a second time at the top of a pile
of rocks. The owl must have decided the kit wasn't worth it and
dropped the kit, a large patch of feathers missing as it left.
Where the kit was dropped however, was not the best. The poor
thing clung to the edge of a large rock until Sandman pulled it
to safety. He would not let it die tonight, not while he was
here.
The kit was safely away from the edge, himself taking its place.
It was hurt some, but it would live. Sandy managed to give a
smile before he fell. It was not a far drop for him, and surely
he would have survived. If the boulders had not followed his
decent.
[color=brown]That was the night the Sandman died.
And yet, two nights later, the golden tom opened his eyes to the
light of a setting full moon. He had little recollection of what
had happened, only the need to see the kit safe at home and the
knowledge that he should not be here. He didn't even look as he
had, as slight as the changes were. His dusty pelt had a warmer
tone to it and his normally pale orange eyes now shone gold and
even seemed to glow a bit. The kit was no where in sight. There
was nothing but a pile of rocks in front of him and a smaller
pile to his side. The kit must have returned to camp or been
found. But why had no one found him? Reguardless, it was time
for the Sandman to go home.[/color][/center]

The snow leopard was taking a short walk when he noticed the cat
walking.

Sandman did not notice the other cat. He was too deep in thought
to notice. The tom still hadn't figured out what had happened?
Why had no one found him? He should've gotten in trouble for
being on Ashclan territory. Had anyone even looked for him?
Where were his siblings anyway?

She saw Sandman. The FrozenClan snow leopard tilted her head.
"Sandy? Where've you been?"

That got his attention. The gold cat glanced up, his thought
leaving his mind for the moment. He padded closer to the large
cat and shrugged. He didn't really know how to explain whatever
had happened to him. Mostly because he wasn't even sure what had
happened to him.

She shrugged. "Okay. But are you gonna come back to camp?" asked
Shimmeringlake.

At this he nodded vigorously. He wasn't just going to leave his
siblings! Not yet at least.

Sandy continued his walk back to camp, now with the large snow
leopard. He thought about those back at camp, their faces
flicking through his mind. It felt like not long ago that he had
seen them but they were probably worried sick. Jack, Bunny,
Tooth, even Goldenpaw. She was turning into a good friend.
Unbeknownst to him, each face seemingly appeared above his head
in what looked like golden sand.
