Please. List the reasons...
I don’t even know him personally or live near him but he’s
hardly ever given a chance to prove himself. So, again please
list all these reasons.

Personally I don't think that Hooper is good enough for the
Premier League level and I would not have promoted him in the
first place. Now that he has been, I would use him as sparingly
as possible as there are far better SG1 officials and given the
scrutiny on officiating at the moment with the introduction of
VAR and all you want your reliable performers out there.

Pawson may well be heading into Europe next week given he is
with his FIFA team.
Friend can't keep away from AFCB, even from the VAR booth!
Marriner and the card shark from the Wirral get the Sunday
television offerings...and Gillett is another of the SG2
seemingly on the shortlist as VAR specialists.

Anthony Taylor and Gary Beswick on Liverpool v Arsenal at 5.30pm
on Saturday, followed by VAR duties at Stockley Park on Sunday
and presumably travel back up north on Sunday night/Monday. I
fear burnout from all the travelling that they are going to have
to do.

It seems the Select Group referees love travelling - last
weekend Graham Scott went from Oxford to London and back and
then from Oxford to London and back again the following day!
Gillett seems a good choice for VAR duties considering its use
in Australia. Good to see Madley get a PL game.
I thought Taylor did perfectly well on Man Utd V Chelsea but
would rather have seen someone else (Kavanagh?) get Liverpool V
Arsenal just to spread it around a bit more.
I wonder who will get Arsenal V Spurs next week. Dean will have
done Arsenal and Spurs already this season (incidentally, is
this Dean's first Spurs game since the Pochettino outburst that
led to the ban last season?), Atkinson and Taylor have done
Arsenal, Oliver and Kavanagh have done Spurs... Marriner, Pawson
or Moss perhaps?
