I watched Punjab Utd v Broadbridgeheath on the Red Button
yesterday - what a pleasure it was to see a game with no
histrionics, no dissent, no VAR hold ups - it wasn't a
particularly exciting game but was still enjoyable - it was very
well handled by the referee (Luke Chapman? and his two
assistants) although there wasn't that much to do - I am
increasingly becoming disinterested in the Premier League etc
and he hyped up overpaid 'stars' and all the money involved - I
think I prefer this level now - this is real football as I
remember it years ago when I went to most Luton games

I share your sentiments. The top-flight football is nothing else
but a business nowadays. Even refereeing was forced to change to
a (very often) parody because of money pumped into football.

With less than 70 hours to go, neither the FA nor the BBC is
giving any indication of which match has been selected for the
       Preliminary Round.

Heather St Johns vs Worcester City
Was in an article about the FAC which focussed on a lottery
       winner, chairman of another club

Our appointments thread shows it as Heather Athletic FC. Either
way, Dominic Chambers is in charge.

That’s good for me as a Worcester fan who couldn’t get to the
game - I can watch it on the iPad just before I go out to
Referee Hereford vs. Scunthorpe on Saturday afternoon

Shame on you..... with a shortage of referees, why dont you
referee proper football? Or is it the striped shirt you like?
       ;)

I did it for 18 years (made it to the Contrib) - but ended up
quitting due to the abuse on Sunday mornings and lack of support
       from those higher up.

Sadly, you are not the only one who has suffered in this way. I
notice that one of our local Sunday morning leagues is short of
officials and we are only two weeks into the season. The league,
which a few years ago had over 40 teams, is now down to 15 teams
       and struggling for officials.
Having said that, the American Football scene is increasing in
this area. Good luck to you --still officiating!
