Correct, clear and obvious doesn't apply to things like offside,
as you are either onside or offside, it is black and white. In
the incredibly rare situation where the players are completely
level it will be onside, but even if the attacker is just 1mm
offside and VAR sees it then it will be given.
Same applies to penalty kick encroachment, that is black and
white, although they will only penalise it if the keeper saves
the kick, or a player encroaches and gets involved in play, as
Declan Rice did yesterday.

There was one incident in a PL game (Burnley?) where claims for
handball in a free kick wall were dismissed pdq by the VAR, yet
I thought this was a clear handball, with hand away from the
body and the ball quite clearly hitting the outstretched hand.
Any thoughts?

Didnt have a problem with that one

I was at the Burnley game and was puzzled with two VAR reviews
for Red Cards, neither of which were seen to be red cards,
however, the challenge by Adams on Ben Mee was very late and
deserving of a caution but no card was issued in either case.
I was at Newcastle today and Martin Atkinson issued a caution
and it was announced that VAR was making a Red Card review
---nothing came of that either, however, the caution was correct
for a late challenge.
The Newcastle occurrence would seem correct, however, the
incidents at Burnley beg the question as to why a Red Card
review was necessary if the match official had already given the
foul but had not considered that a caution should be
administered. Surely this sort of review is undermining the
actions of the onfield match officials who were within yards of
the original incidents and not looking at a screen 240 miles
away.

The goal chalked off in the Wolves v Leicester game was a
correct call by VAR as Law stands now. Although I rarely hear
Talk Sport (thankfully) I heard one of their presenters today
arguing that the Law change was influenced by the needs of VAR.
I don’t know if that’s right but television rules the roost
these days so who knows?
Anyway the Referee in that game made a KMI by not penalising the
handball and awarding a goal. I know VAR stepped in but what
have Observers been told regarding Application of Law?

If a referee misses something but assistant picks it up, is that
a KMI?
Maybe advice on positioning or comment on speed if a case of not
keeping up but otherwise the team got it right
Surely that is the same if VAR is used?

Well there aren't any observers, it's evaluation. Last I
understood it, if you get it right with var then the referee
gets the KMD correct but it's classed as expected rather than
challenging!

Pretty good/interesting thread going on twitter right now
regarding VAR & the very marginal offside calls:

A very fair, well argued point.
We had in fact gone as far as to talk about daylight between
attacker and defender before giving the offside and any benefit
(doubt) being afforded to the attacker.
This has been completely eroded

I quite liked one of the suggestions about treating the margin
like the touchline & the ball having to be fully over before it
is out of play.
