Edy what is our allocation in terms of Cat 2 & 3? I know we have
6 in total, 1 elite, 2 Cat 1 but not sure on the Cat 2 & 3 make
up for the other 3?
Elite: Victor Kassai
1st Group: Tamas Bognár, Istvan Vad.
2nd Group: Ádám Farkas
3rd Group: Balázs Berke, Ferenc Karakó
Berke is new FIFA with only 6 months on the list. He is very
difficult to be promoted on 2nd group. It is more likely next
summer as long as he continues a good development (that means
more appointments on the league).
I agree about Vad. He should be demoted. Or removed from the
list to open space. He never recovered from the mistake on Euro
2012. Bognar is definitely no2 now.
Can we have 2 at Cat 2 & 1 at Cat 3, was more what I meant by in
terms of what is our allocation. I now we currently have 2 Cat 3
& 1 Cat 2.
Berke should have been promoted instead of Karakó, who is not
fit to lace his boots for him. Never did understand why an
unknown NB2 ref was given his white badge ahead of a really
exciting youngster. He'd been on the FIFA list 2 months before
he was promoted to the NB1 & he is dreadful 9/10! Watching him
now & he has been completely ineffective & weak again. He has
allowed my team to foul Remili about 30 times so far & not even
a word, clear dive from Batik - nothing. It's like watching an
amateur league referee.
You're right on Vad. There again I have always considered Bognár
ahead of him, even pre his huge error in 2012!
You can have all of them at 2nd Group. There is no limit. I
remember a case where Romania had 4 2nd Group and none on 3rd
Group (thanks to Kyros).
If you deem Karakó as non-fit, then IMO he should be removed.
But the real issue is that Hungary should search for referees
born 1987-1988 to put on the list. They will have more chances
to progress on the categories if they are 32-33-34.

That's good to know! I would definitely bin Vad & Karakó this
year & replace them with Ádám Pillók who is 31 and Gergő
Bogár who turned 27 last week!

As for this afternoon's game:
Andó-Szabó (back shirt): Steady performance from him. No big
decisions to make. He plodded along nicely along with the game.
No controversies. Won't be the hardest game he gets all season,
did what he needed to, when he needed to do it.
Viktor Kassai (Red shirt): Decent start to the season from our
top ref in a game known to frequently be full of issues! Strong
& decisive as he needed to be. Decision making superb, fitness
top notch, positioning excellent, man-management spot on. Did
dish out a couple of great looks! Correct call on a pen for Mol
Fehérvár.
Karakó (black shirt): Woefully inadequate! Dreadfully weak
performance, decision making - inconsistent, man-management -
non existent. 1st half alone Kispest fouled Remili at least 20
times, obviously targeted/tactical fouling and he didn't even
have a word. Batik should have been booked for an utterly
shameful dive, again not even a word. Batik was finally shown a
yellow card & it was a correct call, 3 mins later he was sent
off. Now if it was a 2nd yellow then it was correct, if it was a
straight red then it wasn't. Reason for the confusion is at no
point was he seen to show a 2nd yellow, just the red. On one
replay he can be seen putting his yellow card in his pocket as
he shows the red so it may well be that he was out of camera
shot when he showed it, I am trying to give him the benefit of
the doubt. Card technique is woeful at best though & we have
been here with him before - the incident with Király immediately
springs to mind! No complaints with the yellows for Konyves,
Ikenne-King & Uzoma, all good calls. End of the game he
virtually ran off of the pitch without his team. He's the 1st
ref I have seen in several years of watching the NBI now who did
not line up with his team after the game & shake players hands.
Maybe he needed to pee but it looked highly unprofessional! His
team were caught unaware and were left trotting after him from
various positions to try and catch him up.
This is where I just really don't get Mr Puhl. He was a great
referee in his day & always demanded a high standard of himself
& of his team, he was also very professional in his conduct &
behaviour. Yet there are 2 referees in particular, Vad & Karakó,
who let him down week in week out, it's not a 1 off poor game,
we all have those & you can accept them but it's every single
week, every single game. A good or even an acceptable
performance is the exception rather than the rule but he seems
to do nothing about it. Vad should have been binned years ago,
Karakó should have never been promoted in the first place. I
wish he would apply the same standards to the referees under his
charge as he did to himself.

On a very big plus note - 10 games so far this season. Both of
Fradi's games have been postponed to give them the chance to
prepare better for the UCL, the MLSz are ace for that sort of
thing. Shirt count: Black - 5; Blue - 2; Red - 3. Sárga - 0!!
Whoever is behind that - you are awesome! [emoji8]

Just to correct myself up there ^^^^
1. The Russian observer was Nikolay Levnikov, father of Kirill!
2. It was Litauszki Róbert, that shimmied the ball, not Branko,
in the Lilák game. Still was the wrong decision by Farkas
though!
3. Having just rewatched the game I am very disappointed to have
to say Mr Farkas was correct to give Nebojša a yellow card. He
had wandered about 1 foot onto the pitch, when issuing
instructions, 4th official spoke to him as he wandered back and
Nebojša shouted at him. Don't know what he shouted as it was in
Serbian but he should not have been shouting at him in any
event! Said coach has been given a bmb reprimand! His reply was
"well you only told me I had to be nice to Péter & György, you
didn't mention the other 4, and I was nice to the 2 you said I
had to be...". bmb reprimand upgraded to a full bmb bollocking!
Sort of answer I expect from my smart-mouthed teenager, not
super coach!

In fairness to coach, when one of our players went to challenge
György Ring over a throw in decision, he stopped him from doing
so & literally shoved him back onto the pitch & told him to get
on with the game! The video is quite funny.

The Russian observer was Nikolai Ivanov (FIFA ref until 2009).
IIRC he was only a Premier Development referee and nothing more.

Well I almost got it right! Whoever he was he should have been
pleased with he saw on the pitch from Bognár Tamás & team!

Nice to see Kulcsár Katalin back domestically after her decent
showing in the WWC in the summer. Now if only Mr Puhl could
show us we are a progressive Federation & appoint her to referee
a match, that would be just awesome. She has earned the chance
on merit!

Ok, I'll admit. I prefer bmb happy.
I would like to ask mr Puhl to appoint Solymosi every week. Oh
and bin Vad and Karakó. That's it.
