Not a great start by Atwell. How that’s not a foul on cunha
28mins beyond me

What a melon Bentacur is… utter stupidity to head butt Shaw.
Definitely a red and well spotted by Attwell.

Game has got feisty in the second half. Been well managed by
Attwell - don't think he's missed any yellows and got the
Bentancur red spot on.

I think Attwell has been very good this evening… things really
did get toxic and he’s had no choice but to go to the cards to
keep a lid on things..

Shaw should have gone for a forceful push in my opinion but I
guess it's supportable in law. Yet again, the retaliator gets
the red who wouldn't have headbutted his opponent if he hadn't
been pushed over. On second thoughts, perhaps the melon would
still have lost it!
These two teams are baffling to say the least but I feel Atwell
got it right however much I am uncomfortable with it.
A feisty finish to manage.

IMO a yellow for Shaw was the right decision. I wouldn't say his
shove used excessive force or was brutal.

I thought Attwell did very well he set his stall out early on
with a YC his biggest weakness/flaw is dissent he allows far to
many players to crowd him at once without any sanction
As for Utd lucky not to lose and Martinez is another melon he
could have easily headed or dealt with the cross for the spurs
goal instead he focused on the player and grappled with him

Same thoughts as others really, kept a lid on things and good to
see he didn’t rely on going to the monitor to produce the red.
As another poster said about crowding - I thought that too. I’d
of had 2/3 players in the book after the handbags for crowding
round the ref

I'm not sure I agree that Shaw was the aggressor. He was
reacting to Bentancur launching himself pretty forcefully with a
scissors type tackle at him. Now given Shaw suffered a
horrendous leg break a few years ago, I think Shaw's reaction,
whilst not within the laws of the game, was understandable. He
was reacting to what could have been a serious injury had
Bentancur properly connected with his tackle. This is what
caused the incident, I would not suggest Shaw was the aggressor
at all. In fact unlike some of this other colleagues
(Fernandes), Shaw is actually very rarely involved in these type
of incidents.

IMO a yellow for Shaw was the right decision. I wouldn't say his
shove used excessive force or was brutal.
Shaw used two hands, with some force to the top of the chest.
Its "referee's call", but mine would have been red. The degree
of force can reasonably be described as violent - it wasn't a
"petty" push but a meaningful shove.
