Sheffield United vs Wolves - Rob Jones

I appear to have been a bad jinx for Rob - after turning on at
half time, he’s missed one of the clearer handballs for a Wolves
penalty and now failed to issue a second yellow to Krejci of
Wolves. Really poor 10 minute spell

For me it’s quite simple with Rob Jones, he just isn’t good
enough. I’ve seen today’s incidents that the original post
refers to, and it’s unacceptable he has got it so badly wrong.
Very rarely see him have a good game. In my opinion he can count
himself extremely fortunate to be operating at this level.

I don’t support either team but I thought Rob Jones wasn’t at
his best today. A lot of little fouls given and it broke the
game up. Missed a clear handball penalty for Wolves.
Interesting… Howard Webb was there watching.

I’ve always liked Rob Jones as a referee he was steady and had
more good games than bad ones . But this season I haven’t been
impressed at all with his performances have been around average
. It might just be me but am I the only one who thinks he’s
changed his running style ? For me it certainly looks a lot
different than previous seasons

I remember Mike Dean saying that Rob Jones will be one of our
top referees in this country! Don’t know what he watched but
nowhere near good enough at all

I watched this game on the tv too… I’m of the opinion that there
should have been a handball penalty awarded to Wolves. But I
think it’s one that’s quite difficult to spot in real time given
the close proximity of the two players involved and the
movements they’re making!
I felt he did quite well otherwise, and I’m quite shocked that
previous posters thought there should have been a second yellow
card… the attacker never had possession of the ball and it was
in the air bouncing around at the time of the foul with no
possibility of a promising attack. I’d be very shocked to see
any of our top officials award this as a red card if I’m being
honest.
He did look lighter on his feet today than last year though, so
maybe he has changed his running style slightly!
