It is still the clubs responsibility to do the boards, so I
would suggest the club either couldn’t use the boards or
inputted the numbers wrong! Maybe that’s what he’s sorting out
but I guess it’s easier to blame the officials though isn’t…

Turns out it isn't in the Premier League, the 4th official does
it. In the EFL, and European competitions, the teams do it but
not the EPL for some reason.

The row about the Anfield subs boards rumbles on
The PL has pointed out to me that clubs are responsible for
inputting the numbers at a substitution, not the fourth official
So why was the 4th official doing that yesterday?
And why did Iraola blame him rather than his staff?

Possibly because it has been custom to do so. Maybe 4O was
trying to fix it? Interesting situation tbh. Still a mess and
needs clearing up and if possible, improving. Liverpool still
cannot complain imho.

Go back to the rules they had prior to 2010 when clubs were
banned from having numbers more than 40/45
