I’m not watching but what is Stephen Warnock talking about on
the BBC live text saying “it’s appalling from the fourth
official” about not allowing a triple substitution to happen?

Liverpool will be unhappy as they were trying to make a
substitution just before the goal. 4O a bit slow on the boards?
IMHO Liverpool should have played to the whistle. Barrett cannot
be blamed.

Liverpool had a triple sub prepared for a while the ball was out
of play and he was trying to get the boards set up that set
piece was taken, then the ball went out again and a quick throw
in was taken with the subs still wanting to come on

As a Liverpool fan, Barrett has had a really good game. Robinson
messed a sub up, which is a tad embarrassing. But can’t blame
Barrott on that

Did I see a foul throw that directly led to the penalty? It was
hard to tell because the Liverpool substitutions were blocking
the main camera view, but it certainly appeared to be one.
Is this something that VAR should be intervening with if this
was in fact the case?

It does certainly look borderline on the throw. Not sure of
whether VAR can intervene.
Graham Scott had his say on the substitution issue. Read down
the chain…..

He makes a very good point, they are a pain when the numbers are
1 to 16, but look at what happened here. 38 replaced 30, 73
replaced 18, and 21 replaced 6, that is a lot of presses of the
plus button.

Robinson hasn't had a good start to the season ! Missing hand
ball goals and now unable to operate subs boards.
On a serious note, a lot of 4th officials do seem to struggle
with these boards and multiple subs.
