Jekyl and hyde, some good, some random.
Booked Ramsey when it looks like hes got the ball
Seems to fling cards around like a 90s south american referee,
seems to use cards as doesnt have very good rappot & man
       management skills

I think he’s done pretty well to be fair to him. I didn’t see
the Ramsey booking but the other cautions he has been consistent
       with.
But Attwell has controlled the game reasonably well compared to
other times which he has occasionally lost control and I think
this has been a decent performance.

What was worse with the booking for Ramsey was there was a clear
advantage for Liverpool that wasnt played to do it as well

Good spot for the penalty at the end. Based on the time taken to
point to the spot, I suspect Lee Betts was in Attwell's ear as
he didn't look sure at first.

As the Newcastle goalkeeper was cautioned for delaying the
restart at a goal kick why wasn’t the restart a Liverpool
       corner?

The Newcastle goalkeeper was taking time over a free kick and
       not a goal kick.
If it was a goal kick, then the restart would’ve been a
Liverpool corner but for defensive free kicks, the only action
for taking too long is a caution for delaying the restart.

It was a free-kick and as the penalty kick was awarded at the
very end of imnjury time, its quite possible that the few
seconds wasted by the goal-keeper enable the foul (for the
penalty) to take place. So reasons for losing two points were:
       i) Time wasted enabling additional stoppage time;
ii) Clear foul challenge resulting in a penalty kick.
No doubt Newcastle will blame the referee though.

No doubters with the time or penalty kick award.
I thought Attwell had a good game.

Thanks for clarifying. I might have dozed off and missed that it
was a free kick. There wasn’t much to keep me awake!

A few seasons ago at Anfield Nick Pope feigned injury towards
the end of the game and during the time added for that Liverpool
       scored the winning goal.
