Josh Smith - Burnley vs West Ham

Thought J Smith refereed this game with relative ease and
nothing overly troubled him in his game. He got the penalty to
Burnley spot on after a poor challenge by the West Ham defender.
One thing that stood out to me was the poor player behaviour
shown when a strong tackle or just other incidents broke out. It
felt every player came into a scuffle to pitch their opinion and
it took a lot longer to sort things out when it should’ve been
quicker. Sometimes this can happen because of the referee but
this was not the case today and Josh wasn’t to blame for any of
these moments.
Overall a good performance.

Totally agree with the above, got all yellow cards spot on,
penalty was nailed on. Overall a performance he can be very
pleased with.
One observation was when Diouf was booked for the foul on
Flemming in injury time and received treatment he went off the
pitch, I thought if a player was injured as a result of
challenge which resulted in a YC they didn't need to leave the
field of play?

The injury comes from a foul where the opponent gets a red or
yellow card, so the fact that he injured himself does not save
him

Fully agree hardly noticwd him unless he was needed to take
action, lets hope all the refs we( burnley) get this season are
at the same standard, highly doubt it though with ward still on
the list, never seen him hqve a good game when on our matches

Don’t think that will be a problem Andrew Kitchen has his own
parking space at Turf Moor
