hi,
good solid start from FH - including 3 x YC's for the visitors -
all correct. end to end stuff from the 1st minute and a couple
of great goals - and no hydration break - what's not to like?
hopefully the 2nd half will continue in the same manner [emoji4]

I really liked the YC for Mane for simulation. You could see on
replay that he manufactured any contact with the defender by
throwing his leg at the defender. More of that to be punished
across the season please.

I think he guessed there was no way he could be certain where
the arm was from his position

the arm was from his position

Don't think so, the defender's right foot was on the line at the
time of the handling and his arm was further right, the clues
were all there.

I hate the notion when people say referees have “guessed” (not
directed at you but just generally).
Guessing implies doubt and uncertainty. If Hallam felt either of
those in that moment then I’m pretty certain he would’ve given a
free kick right on the edge and gone with the safe option. He
gave the decision based on what he saw and thats all there is to
it really.
It’s a real 50/50 call for me. With the benefit of replays, I
think it’s on the line which obviously means penalty. I don’t
think there’s no one from any fanbase that could conclusively
say if it’s inside or outside.

I think the penalty was just outside personally but there’s too
much doubt to give the officials any criticism either way. Good
night’s work for Farai and team, only negative for me was a
missed yellow for a foul by Afolayan on Trippier.

If his right foot is on the line, and his right arm is beyond
his right foot, by definition it has to be at least on the line
and therefore deemed to be inside the area and a penalty.
