       Informed there is a discussion on here re the above.I was in
       fact the linesman.What happened was that Ronnie Whelan informed
       the ref that the in-direct free kick had gone in without
       touching a second player.Alan Smith had glanced it in.
       One aside was that the assessor informed me I could have found
       the subs warming up behind me distracting so to ensure in future
       to find somewhere else!! Felt like asking,'Like Goodison?'

       I know the referee, David Hutchinson, who told me he simply
       asked you ‘is there any reason why I should not award the goal?’
       Is that how you remember it?

       Yes the claim from Ronnie Whelan being that it was in-direct and
       had not touched a second player-He was wrong.
