Sad in some ways because I like him but his credit in my eyes
was slightly diminished by his use of goalkeeper tactical
       timeouts.
Last season was disappointing, 12th was it?, and the challenge
of both Europe and domestic football proved too much. Had they
qualified for Europe this year maybe they could have kept their
best players and recruited quality new ones. Whatever, they
didn't and now have financial issues to address and Howe
obviously is unhappy about this. After all his neck is on the
       line.
The results against Sunderland were bad and patience with him
may have been stretched but if they were at breaking point I
would have expected his departure in May. Interesting that a
       replacement is already mentioned though....
Hard hat on but Newcastle come across as a small club with huge
support but not much else my opinion is that they will struggle
against the big boys in terms of recruitment and resources.

       hi,
the rumour is that the (as of yet unconfirmed) sale of bruno
guimaraes was the final straw and EH felt it was impossible to
reach the owners' expectations when they have sold the majority
of their better players - mostly in order to comply with SCR and
UEFA's FSR (when they qualify for european competition again).
matthias jaissle is, to me at least, an unknown quantity (i
believe he is german), but is obviously well known to the owners
owing to his previous club playing in the saudi pro-league.
       regards,
       gnr

Local reports are saying that Eddie told the Board that he was
       finishing about three weeks ago.
There were a lot of fans who wanted rid of him so they will be
more than happy. However, there are many more who thought that
he was good for the club and that he has been stitched up with
the financial strictures which seem to be imposed on some clubs
and totally ignored with relevance to other clubs.
Good luck to him and whatever he does next.

I hope all of the ex cherries coaches, analysts etc leave with
him. They’ll have literally zero backroom staff left!

Just been announced that Jason Tindall has gone, however, that
is no surprise. Two more staff members also leaving but not sure
       who.

I'd guess at Purchy being one of them

Jason Tindall, Stephen Purchess, Simon Weatherstone and Graeme
Jones will all leave Newcastle United alongside Eddie Howe.

I find it astonishing no official announcement has been made

It’s baffling how they’ve had to sell their first choice
midfield for nearly £180m, plus Gordon going too for £70m.
Howe has probably said foxtrot Oscar to the owners as a result.
All that oil money they have… bizarre.
