I just KNEW when I started reading that there was going to be a
connection to The Rump. And, in the 6th sentence, there it was.
       It absolutely STINKS.
       Bravo UEFA. Bravo Andy Burnham.

Is it really any surprise that since Infantino has tied himself
so closely to Trump that this latest 'FIFA' initiative/grift
stands to raise Infantino millions? Not like his pal has done
any dodgy deals that have earnt him and his family billions off
the back of his presidency. Infantino has clearly taken advice
and/or learnt from his idol. Also quelle surprise that a Trump
family member is already lined up by Infantino to lead the whole
       private equity fund initiative...
Good that UEFA is standing up for football. The African, Asian,
South Americans will inevitably have their votes bought by the
plans, so UEFA are shouting into the wind. The only thing that
FIFA, and these confederations, listen to nowadays is money. And
most of that money, both directly and indirectly through
commercial interest and investment, comes from Europe. A FIFA
tournament, especially on the men's side, is absolutely
worthless without the European countries/clubs. UEFA need to
start to leverage this over FIFA. It's good to hear UEFA are
apparently convening an emergency meeting of its members to
discuss proposing a boycott of the 2030 World Cup (especially
awkward given two European nations are the main hosts). It may
focus some minds in FIFA. Or 4 years out, it probably won't hold
as much weight as it otherwise might. Maybe UEFA could start by
persuading European clubs to withdraw their teams from
       Intercontinental championships of the CWC.
Infantino's going nowhere, no matter how much we complain. It's
going to take drastic steps to change FIFA's direction, and only
UEFA hold they power to do that.

       hi,
reading the article, i would predict that from 2038, the fifa
world cup will be held every 4 years in the US.
uefa need to break away and organise the euros biennially maybe
offering 'guest' slots to non-european countries who wish to
participate. there might be potential legal issues ahead, but a
       stand needs to be made.

Infantino, the Trump toady, is beneath contempt so I won't waste
any words on him. It seems to me that Uefa do have considerable
leverage. If every European nation refuses to join this monetary
charade then whatever they may call it ( shades of the absurd
World Series nonsense in the USA ) it won't be a World Cup. I
for one would be quite content to stick to European competitions
and just ignore this grotesque nonsense being mooted by those
who know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

The latest BBC Sport article (which I can’t copy the link for
some reason) states that Infantino has offered all 211 members
£30m if they back his money making scheme.

although not as much as UEFA
