be fairly sporadic and thin on the ground. Not quite sure about
David Dickinson and the other newbies have some way to go.

Gut feel is Nicolson and Lee will be ahead of MacDermid and
Dickinson pretty quickly.
I think Robertson is, and always has been, better than Walsh so
I do find it strange that Walsh has always been so comfortably
ahead at UEFA.
We had Chris Graham at Fir Park today, dear dear dear. Happily
there wasn't really a big decision in the game as he seemed to
have no concept what a foul or a booking was. We gained as much
as we lost, he was just all over the place.

Thanks Tweed.
Seen on another site that both Robertson (poor game IMHO) and
Dickinson have Euro ties this week.
Seen Ryan Lee a couple of times ‘live’. Had ok 1st halves but
lost the plot in both the 2nds.
Was impressed by Ross Hardie and feel he deserves to be pushed
on.
Willie C is on Observer duty this week as well so fingers
crossed with the Euro appointments for the future.
Thoughts on the 1st Old Firm? Methinks it could be Steven
McLean.

Thanks arabref.
Have to say these appointments are becoming tedious. The same
faces week-in, week-out.
Surely we are getting to the stage of 'familiarity breeding
contempt' with the same referees getting the same teams after a
short period of time? Steven McLean is 45; John Beaton 44; Kevin
Clancy 42/43. They could all up and retire at the end of the
season and lots of experienced 'campaigners' are gone. Apart
from Ryan Lee (who I still don't rate) and Duncan Nicolson,
there are no new faces.
What about Grant Irvine, Iain Snedden, Graham Grainger, Dan Mc
Farlane (I know he's had a couple of games) and Lloyd Wilson -
they have Premiership experience so why not use them? Ross
Hardie seems to be getting a lot of Championship games and he
does sport a 'white badge', why not get him ready for some of
the bigger Premiership matches?
We should be 'blooding' new faces like Sean Murdoch, Josh Hay,
Cameron Stirling, Peter Stuart (not that new a face) and Jamie
Wilkie to get some experience if there is a mass exodus from the
Class 1 list. I do remember the day when every Grade 1 referee
was 'fair game' for matches (except the obvious) . . . and it
added variety since back then the officials could get one/two
games with a particular club per season.
Saw Nick Walsh in Kilmarnock v Dundee United - did this match
really need our only Elite UEFA official? Any of those with
prior Premiership experience could have handled this (it was
dire); Lloyd Wilson was marshalling the dugouts, as usual.
Thought Nick Walsh was OK; good spot for the penalty but he was
better last season and his foul detection was a bit 'so-so'
(could it be the new more lenient approach?) But, with European
matches coming up for him every couple of weeks could he not
have had a weekend off?
Sorry for the rant . . . . I really do appreciate you taking
the time and effort to keep posting these appointments, arabref.
