2026/27 Season Hopes/Expectations

As another season is just around the corner, whether it’s PL,
EFL or any football across the pyramid, what are your hopes for
your club this season? Dreaming of promotion or fearing the
worst?
I’ll go with mine for Ipswich. Any position above that dreaded
relegation dotted line will be a successful season for us. I’m
sure it’ll be another season of struggle in the Premier League
but hopefully we can just about survive this time around.

hi,
obviously i'm hoping for a repeat of last season's premier
league winning feat, but i don't think that will happen - some
of the 'big six' underperformed last season and i think they
will be back with a vengeance in 2026/27. after finally getting
some silverware, i'm hoping arteta will ditch the negative
tactics and play expansive football again - the past two seasons
have been a hard watch - although i'm not holding my breath.
i really hope all of the jostling/pushing/shoving/holding at
dead ball situations is rigorously clamped down on - even if it
unduly affects arsenal. likewise, time wasting and 'dark arts'
finally, asking for a change of manager is probably pushing my
luck a bit too far [emoji21]
good luck to all for the coming season, whether professional,
amateur, spectator, player or official [emoji256][emoji106]
regards,
gnr

It's going to be a huge learning curve for us this season, we've
never experienced European games and our squad are going to have
to learn to deal with the travel, fragmented training sessions
etc. Yes other clubs do it, we will as well but we have to learn
to manage that in a way that is effective for us as a club and
our squad. New/different coach taking us there to the amazing,
wonderful coach who got us there, so there's a bedding down
period whilst he and the squad gel and that's leaves a
probability that our PL form or European form will suffer in the
interim. Not pessimism but realism. I'm a long time admirer of
Marcos Rose so I'm pretty excited to see what he can bring to
our club. Our fans need to give him the same patience and love
we gave Andoni during those first 3 months of his time because
it will pay off as it did with Andoni. The biggest difference is
Andoni only had the PL to contend with, Rose has that and the
nice gift Andoni left him of the Europa league as well! Our
squad isn't the biggest in terms of experience, 4/5 injuries and
we're onto a bench full of dev squad players so it's going to
take careful rotation to keep everyone fit and engaged. On the
flip side the majority of our players are young, keen and
determined to show how amazing they are so they will give it
their all every game.
Strange but exciting season coming up for us so I'd say:
PL - would love to see a top 10 finish but will always be happy
with anything above the drop zone! I have yet to lose my tinpot
mindset!!
Europa league - would love to make it to the next phase and
anything beyond that is a bonus.
Cups - don't care really, this season I am happy to forgive the
coach for placing less importance on them, if he so chooses. We
can survive without cup runs but we can't avoid a relegation
fight if we let our PL performances slide. We're good enough to
beat any team on our day, I really believe that, and we are
starting to show that with our results against the so called big
six, and our league position last year was down to hard work &
determination not luck - it's whether we can maintain that with
at least 8 extra games on top that we are yet to see.
So in summary, we're going on a European tour and little else
matters! We're going to win the Europa League, finish 5th in the
PL, get spanked in the Carabo Cup quarter finals by a L1 team
and out of the FA cup in the 3rd round to a non league team and
I'm going to love every second of it! [emoji23]

Bradford - would be happy with a top 10 finish. Midfield looks
very light and the teams joining the league appear stronger than
those who have departed.
Hoping for a trip to Wembley in the EFL trophy which we’ve been
threatening for a while, in each of the last 4 seasons we’ve
been 1 game from Wembley, in either the playoffs or the trophy,
and lost every time!😩

Club wise, the playoffs are a minimum, however now they have
been increased ( in my opinion wrongly ) to 8, perhaps having at
least a home tie should be the hope.
League wise, thankfully no VAR and hopefully referees stop
wasting time at corners warning players and just penalise
straight away.
Premier League, sort the mess out with Man C as soon as possible
and somehow stop teams spending over £100 million on an
individual player. The league also needs to be much more
competitive rather than virtually having 3 leagues in 1

As a Wednesday fan I can safely say that it can only be better
than last season 😂
We now have an owner that is actively engaging with supporters,
something the previous owner certainly didn't do, and seem to be
building a squad that should be able to compete in League 1.
Including bringing the club legend Barry Bannan back. Automatic
promotion is probably a bit of a push with a pretty much
completely new squad, but we should be good enough to make the
play offs.
