Barrott has been a busy boy what with the Euro U19s, Champions
League qualifier coming up too. Probably the referee most "up to
speed"

With Anthony Taylor leaving the fray, then I would suggest that
Sam Barrott and Farai Hallam ( possibly along with Tom Kirk )
are the ones most likely to join Michael Oliver and Chris
Kavanagh in becoming the senior members of the Select Group.

In my opinion, I’d say it’s a bit too early to talk about Farai
Hallam and Tom Kirk becoming the most senior officials in Select
Group. We should let them grow into their new status as
essentially PL referees without placing lots of pressure on
their shoulders.
As I’ve said many times last season I would first like to see
Tom Bramall and Tony Harrington get trusted with more higher
profile PL fixtures given they have more PL experience and are
also just top quality officials.

Oh, I entirely agree about Bramall and Harrington getting more
high profile appointments. I was rather looking into
Whistleblower's crystal ball a few years hence; certain both
Hallam and Kirk need to be handled carefully. Pushing too hard
and too fast is quite deleterious.
As to pressure, well senior refereeing is an incredibly
pressured environment these days and being able to cope with
that is as important as technical competence.

I agree re pushing them too fast and too hard. The Attwell
legacy after Lord Elleray was his tutor is still in the history
books.

It wouldn't surprise me. Kavanagh got that fixture when he was
fairly new to the PL list. I would expect Hallam to be a regular
in the PL this season building up to bigger matches.
