Appointments - Semi Finals

With the teams that are there, Taylor and Oliver will have
completed their WC duties. They have done excellent, but now
suffered because the team has qualified. Similarly for the
French and Argentina officials.
Will be interesting to see who get the Semi finals, particularly
the

match. An American referee?

I shan’t be watching it, but I’d have Ivan Barton on England v
Argentina, no question.

I've been very impressed with Jesus Valenzuela this tournament
and he would deserve a semi final. Unfortunately I'm not sure he
will receive a further appointment.
I'm thinking Barton and Marciniak for the semi finals.

I think Valenzuela or Barton could easily get the 3rd place
match.

Spain France Marciniak/Vincic (im split 50/50)
England Argentina Barton/Faghani (swaying more Faghani however I
think Barton would excel in this game)
3rd place game Penso (seems nailed on for me)
Final Makkelie/Mariani/Valenzuela/Eflath (Makkelie was heavily
rumored pre tournament, Mariani is now the rumored name,
Valenzuela would be a big positive political statement after
events in his country and my pick on performance, Eflath would
be a huge disappointment for other referees however I see him
being appointed)

Please NO!
It’d be a free for all and no control. I’d be surprised after
just 2 group games, especially as there’s now a R32. Looks to me
that 2 group games only means you’re out now?
Not a fan of Barton personally (too abrasive and can’t stay low
key when game merits it), but his style might suit us, and ARG
more likely to get on wrong side of him? I thought Martinez HON
was good too, so maybe outside bet if confederation neutrality
so important?
Elfath should be out IMO on performance, but could see him being
given it - Spanish and English speaking, and neutral confed … it
would be a lottery.
If uefa, could see Vincic. No nonsense and has rep for getting
through tough games.
