If I’m being honest I think that’s a poor miss by Turpin. I
think he should be spotting that live.
But very good intervention and also correct to restart with a
corner since the ball was not in play.

IMO Turpin has so far produced a usual Turpin masterclass , he
is THE referee to watch for any up and coming referees to look
at with Oliver and Taylor not far behind it they wish to reach
the pinnacle and highest point of their refereeing careers

Yes - a foul cannot be awarded if the ball isn’t in play, so the
restart is retaken as the defending team were at a disadvantage
when the corner was taken.

If referees had transfer windows like players, my god would I go
for Turpin to come to England.
He would be brilliant to watch weekly in the PL.

Why did he blow up? “Accidental” fouls not given - was given in
Stockport Bolton play off final 🤷

Again, perfect no foul call. I don’t know whether he blew
because he thought they had serious injuries, but it is good he
didn’t give a foul.
Wasn’t intentional, an accidental catch, also good from VAR to
not intervene.

He’s so incredibly unfussed. Certainly my favourite from the
current era.

I’ve no idea what there is to disagree about this.
Perfectly normal/accidental footballing contact, and even if it
was a foul, the pass to the goalkeeper occurred first so no need
for VAR and no possible consideration of DOGSO.
Sensible refereeing.
