I did leave a message in South Africa’s last match thread, but
thought a new topic would be more suiting.
South Africa player Jayden Adams has passed away, allegedly
through taking his own life as reported through the original
news outlet, but cause of death is unconfirmed.
Adams recently made his World Cup debut with South Africa and
played a key role in Mamelodi Sundowns’ successful CAF Champions
League campaign.
Two weeks ago, Adams lost his grandmother Marianna Adams but
demonstrated remarkable professionalism by featuring for South
Africa in their World Cup campaign.
Thoughts go out to his family, friends and teammates.

Many have discovered a resurfaced video of South Africa
celebrating in the changing rooms, whilst Jayden was sat,
quietly in the corner.
Please, if you get a moment, check on the people you love. You
can never check on somebody too much. Life is precious, and you
don’t know what you truly have until it’s gone.

“​The 25-year-old South African international was found
dead at his home just days after representing his country at the
FIFA World Cup. Prior to his passing, Adams was reportedly
navigating a challenging period marked by growing media scrutiny
and the recent death of his grandmother.
​Reports indicate that he had a heated argument with his
partner the night before he died. The following morning, he
contacted his father, reportedly telling him, “Dad, I can’t take
it anymore.”
​An official investigation is still underway to establish
