Agreed - but that's how it's been throughout. We've had a
number of goals disallowed with OFR for far softer 'fouls' than
today's.

Baffled that people think the incident with Salah in the box in
the lead up to Argentina's goal was a foul or remotely
comparable to the foul that caused Egypt's goal to be
disallowed.
For the incident on Salah, the Argentine player wins the ball,
it's then behind Salah who runs into his leg and drags his left
foot back to throw himself to the ground.
The Mac Allister shirt pull doesn't have the necessary impact to
be a foul and certainly not a VAR intervention.
The only complaint anyone can really have is whether the foul in
the build up to Egypt's disallowed goal met the high bar for
intervention. But, although there has been quite a high bar for
VAR intervention in this tournament when it comes to awarding
penalties, the bar does seem to have been lower for disallowed
goals for soft fouls, so there's some consistency there.

I'm going to say this and duck.
But I think people are now looking for biases and conspiracies
after the issues over the last day or two. I thought the team
here were 100% right to give a foul at the 2nd Egypt goal. It
was a blatant tug and the Argentinian team were up the pitch
because they were getting ready to receive a cross. Small
foul or big foul, it was a massive advantage and had to be
penalised.
The Argentina winner as Affy_Moose said was normal contact. I
was all on board with Egypt beating them, but they didn't
because of them not because of Letexier and his team.

I’m in no place to comment on his performance as I didn’t watch
the game, however I did watch a clip of him booking an Egyptian
coaching staff member when they used the racism symbol.
That’s wrong. If Letexier himself saw the symbol, which he used
himself less than a year ago, and decided to book him, then that
simply cannot be happening.

Only Letexier (and maybe the ARs and 4th) will know whether the
caution was for using that gesture, or whether he was already
getting cautioned for his behaviour prior to making the gesture
- given how animated their entire technical area were, I could
quite believe it was the latter. If Hassan genuinely believes
that something racist was occurring then he should have to make
an official report, or have the book thrown at him for crying
wolf.

Reports suggest the Egyptian FA have submitted a complaint to
FIFA regarding the decisions made by Letexier in the match.

All we can do is hope that Francois thought it was something
else, and didn’t recognise it was the symbol and then give a
yellow card…
It still baffles me though, a symbol he himself used, surely he
would’ve recognised.
It really doesn’t look good though…

I know I was the first to comment on the racism signal being
made, but having watched it a few times I think he was accusing
Letexier (or his team) of racism because of the decisions which
went against his team, which is obviously nonsense.

If that is the case then they should have already come out and
stated that. It will have been mentioned in the post match
debriefing. The longer that nothing is said the more time for
conspiracy theories to strengthen and grow and the more it would
look like it is just a made up excuse.
I really like Letexier as a ref, I think he is one of the
brightest young refs coming through and will be a huge star in
the future, I have no doubts in my mind regarding his integrity
going on conduct to date but the whole situation looks really
off right now and greatly exacerbated by what we have seen
happen so far in this WC.
