This will be a challenge for this referee.
Given the "political" intervention about the RC, he is going to
under so much scrutiny for this match. I hope he is up to it,
and not like the referee in the France v Paraguay match. A weak
performance, will raise concerns about further interference.

I don’t think he did a good job in the England vs DR Congo game.

I have never wanted Belgium to win more in my life.
Although I’ll probably wake up and see ‘Belgium win reversed
after Trump contacts FIFA claiming illegal play by the
European side’

If Belgium win he will have the whole team and backroom staff
deported.
Good old POTUS says he didnt think it was a foul and then says
he didnt know what a red card meant……says it all about him and
this World Cup.
I wonder if missy bmb can ring the president and ask him to get
FIFA to ban referees wearing the rag?

I’m sure you’ve already agreed a result with FIFA, Donald. It
wouldn’t surprise a single human on this earth!

To be fair the appointment was made before the hoo-ha
Couldn't appointment SA ref given last game, no UEFA as wouldn't
want this to be first game to break confederation neutrality,
CAF refs haven't been up to it, do didn't leave many
He will know, even with a faultless performance he wouldn't go
much further so can go.out and referee the game properly
