Appalling performance from the officials this evening.
Has missed so much, very weak in not issuing cards for obvious
offences, missed a possible red card for VC on Mbappè, and the
icing on the cake was missing a clear penalty when Douè was
fouled. Thankfully VAR got involved and corrected it.
He looks totally lost.

Also, no yellow cards for any of the Paraguay players clearly
delaying the taking of the penalty.

Was very surprised to see him again after the Scotland v Morocco
game, never mind at this stage. Foul recognition is pretty much
non existent. He has to see that penalty, it’s the easiest
decision

Only turned over at half time, but from what I have seen, the
referee has really not been good.
Should have seen the penalty first time. Then has multiple
players surrounding him and the penalty taker, one of which
scuffs the penalty spot. The result? No caution!

He’s been absolutely shocking. That’s putting it lightly. How
only 3 mins were added on first half was outstanding. As the
commentator has just said “he’s missed so many fouls and has not
been up to the task”

Had zero control over the whole game, probably the worst
performance of the tournament so far. Won’t be seeing him again

Paraguay are a horrible team to referee and I would happily see
them heading out of the tournament but Ivan Barton showed the
way to deal with them - strong refereeing and setting a clear
limit from the first minute.
There have been some brutal fouls that have escaped sanction -
including a borderline punch on Mbappe in first half.

Hes been worse than Lahoz in 2022. At least Lahoz cared about
player safety. Someone's going to get broken up and a chunk of
responsibility will lie with this official because hes condoning
it.

I think you have been kind, he has been beyond woeful.
Oliver earlier on went straight to the cards when things started
getting tetchy, and this cooled things off.
Tantashev, in comparison, by not getting the cards out, and
making such basic decisions without sanction, has made things a
whole lot worse, and his match control is non existent.
The players are controlling the game, not the officials.
