Testing start for Oliver, missed a card or two for some
challenges.
Good that he tried to step in quick when the push and shove
began.. and two yellows from that scuffle too.

I personally think it’s refereeing to see Oliver use cards as
per law, rather than ignore blatant cautions like some of his
colleagues. Hope he keeps up this impressive start as it would
be nice to see an English team near the semis or final, and I
doubt it’ll be the players!

the ball. He will do well to keep 11 each on the pitch

He’s had to go to the cards to calm things down, that said if
the players keep this up then some of them will be heading to
the shower rooms in double quick time before the end of the
contest.
Oliver isn’t usually a card shark, and tends to talk more and
card less, which works almost all of the time.

I think he often uses his relationship from the Premier League.
He doesn't seem to have that in this match, which will enable us
to see his management skills.

To be honest I have no issues with any of the yellow cards
issued. They’ve all been absolutely spot on. My only question is
whether a couple of tackles earlier could have resulted in
yellow.
When teams are acting the way they’re acting there’s only so
much you can do as a ref. The reason there’s been 7 YC so far is
on the players, and only the players.
