Sorry to disagree but the German looks at the GK and
deliberately moves to block him

I went to bed before extra time, but from the snippet I’ve seen
am I going mad or did any Paraguay defender/gk make any appeal
at the disallowed goal?

I would have voted for the possible third option … should have
been given as an on field foul but also not worthy of a VAR
intervention as a clear and obvious error!

TillysDad is right. FIFA has defended the decision to disallow
the German goal explaining that any player who looks to block a
player with no interest in playing the ball is liable to
sanction and in particular blocking of the goalkeeper.

Thought he was very good in a difficult game that became very
techy and firey towards the end. Remained strong throughout. I
am not convinced the disallowed goal is a foul and certainly not
C/O for VAR to get involved. This is a shame as possibly ruined
his chances of getting a further match
