We might need another poll up for the VAR decision to rule out
Germany’s goal.. scandalous call if you ask me. He’s had a good
game otherwise aswell!

From being very impressed by the officiating in the first 10
days or so, the last week has baffled me beyond belief.
I now have absolutely no idea what constitutes a VAR
intervention. I really can’t understand how the VAR have come to
a clear and obvious error for the Germany No3 blocking the
Paraguay keeper.
I understand they want to clamp down blocking but you have to
allow a degree of normal contact and if anything I believe the
keeper initiates the contact and falls down like a sack of
spuds.
The referee hasn’t had a bad game in my opinion but that is an
awful decision to me.
Edit - apologies, I must have been writing this post as the

VAR should stay well out of that incident. However, Jayed should
really have the courage to tell VAR to eff off and award the
goal.
Shocking from all concerned and that’s definitely torpedoed any
chance of further matches for all involved.

Defender's deliberately blocked the goalkeeper, so I think it's
a foul, even though I'd want my keeper to be stronger than that.
Seems to be in-keeping with the general MO this tournament of
setting a high bar for giving fouls on-field, but the bar for
VAR involvement following a goal scored being somewhat lower.
