       Yes, but Greater Manchester isn't a town or city, it's a county
       (although one invented). Altrincham is a separate town, like
       Rochdale, Oldham, bury, Wigan, Salford, etc...
       Edit: In fact, to add to this, Altrincham doesn't even have a
       Manchester postcode, it has a Warrington postcode (WA). Only
       Salford of the places listed above has a Manchester (M)
       postcode.

       From a financial sense, does this make all EFL officials fully
       professional? Considering they are all technically in identical
       roles.

       My understanding is that Altrincham, as part of Greater
       Manchester, is under the administration of Trafford Metropolitan
       Borough whose headquarters, Trafford Town Hall, was the old
       Stretford Town Hall.
       So I guess it depends how ‘local’ is defined.

       Surely this is only what was formally SG1/SG2? as they were
       already professional

       Name changes - referee developer now (!) but the people filling
       these roles these roles remain the same - therein lies the
       problem - its not the role, its the people carrying out the role
       that need changing
