SG1,2 and the Supp List will now merge to form the ‘Professional
       Referee Group’.

The logo looks like a year 7 homework project. I hope they
didn't pay anyone to do it... I could have knocked up better in
5 mins and for probably 100th of the cost!

So, in theory a merged list, in reality, are we likely to see a
greater number of refs in the PL…I doubt it!

Ideal for the more promising officials but for the majority of
what was SG2 I don’t see many that will have PL middles.
Probably more appointments in the Championship for those at the
       lower end of SG1.

Or, the other way, the likes of Taylor, Oliver etc in the
       Championship? I also doubt it.
(and now i've said that we'll probably get "SG1" at the
Toughsheet for the opening day derby match against Preston
       now.....)

       d. Where the match directly involves a club from the same town
       or city (excluding
London) in which the match official resides.
Does this mean Anthony Taylor now cannot referee either
Manchester club? Or is he from further out of Manchester than I
       think?

That appointments policy has been there for previous seasons and
       is dated August 2024.

Another question….are all referees from last seasons SG 1/2
automatically on the new list or have some stepped down to the
       FL list?

He's from Altrincham, which is not Manchester.
