       The UEFA Executive Committee has appointed Stéphanie Frappart as
       Head of Refereeing; she will serve on the UEFA Referees
       Committee.
       UEFA would like to thank Dagmar Damková, the former Head of
       Refereeing, for her significant contribution to elite refereeing
       in recent years. Her dedication, expertise, and work have been
       widely recognized and greatly appreciated.

       I presume this means she has retired from active refereeing.
       Whilst recognising the importance of her contribution to women’s
       refereeing,  I must be honest and say that I was never a fan.
       For me, she was always too stern and inflexible.  Perhaps she
       felt she had to be, although Bibiana Steinhaus showed that there
       was another way.
       That said, I wish Mme. Frappart every success in her new role.

       Frappart’s colleague Benoit Bastien has also retired to take up
       the role of director of French refereeing. An excellent referee
       who would have had a much more successful international career
       had it not been for Turpin flourishing at the same time

       I remember Bastien putting in one of the best performances i'd
       ever seen in an EL game I think it was the year he was promoted
       or maybe the year before.
