Unless he said something like: "Player X got foot on the ball".
That said, I do believe it was a penalty... but I think we
should do away with VAR and we get what we get.

I actually thought his game management was great given the
amount of diving going on.

I thought he was really good. Didn’t fall for any theatrics -
was strong and authoritative, enhanced the game with his style.
Looked like he was struggling towards the end though. Wouldn’t
mind seeing him again

Few complaints from me, thought he was fairly consistent with
what he gave and what he didn’t. Maybe played a bit close to the
wire with head injuries but it’s really hard when every little
bump gets a massive overreaction.

No-one ever criticised Collina for death stares, nor some of the
referees who have "manhandled" players
Whilst a smile and a joke can be good, as referees we are not
there to be liked and if strong body language is required then
so be it
My concern was there was a patch in the game where no-one seemed
to know what a foul was

Spot on, RCG. I once heard the great Jack Taylor OBE give a
talk to my referees’ society. I remember his words to this day:
“If you’re going out there to be liked, do us all a favour,
stay at home!”.
