       I can see why he was only appointed as a reserve referee. The
       match isn't over but it's probably the poorest refereeing
       performance I've seen all tournament. Foul detection is
       inconsistent. Players have been protesting every decision he has
       made and he has shown no authority in dealing with them. His
       worst moment was allowing Egypt to take a free kick while he was
       still issuing a yellow card to a NZ player.
       It hasn't been a difficult game and thankfully his performance
       hasn't been consequential. But he hasn't been good enough.
