Well, I felt quite uneasy having all 3 VAR officials stare
straight into my soul….

Seems to be going fairly well so far!
Morocco really are insane, I hope England stay as far away from
them in the KO brackets as possible because I fear we may not be
enough to beat them right now…
Good from Vincic and team right now! On that challenge on Vini
Jr at the end of the half, I don’t think the boot was high
enough on Vini for me. In the PL, you might see a review
requested or at least heavy appeals, which shows the difference
I think..

Standard Vincic performance- a few technical errors and missed
cautions but nothing match altering and good player management
throughout. Plenty more games coming up for him I’m sure

at someone, no idea who, but christ he looked stern.

I feel Vincic is a better referee than some like to make out
(esp on a certain blog)
He is experienced, rarely flustered and can cope under pressure.
With the extended KO stages he is certainly someone I would use
more than once

I’d go further than that RCG. I think Mr. Vincic is semi-final
material, maybe even the final itself if it’s to be a European
again.
Like you, I am at odds with the vitriol he gets on a that other
blog. They seem to think he only gets the big appointments
because he shares nationality with Ceferin. Such a policy could
rebound badly on the President if Mr. Vincic was a poor referee,
but he isn’t.
He always looks every inch the top international referee he is,
a safe and reliable “big match” official. In that respect I put
him up there with Messrs. Turpin, Marcyniak and Faghani, not to
mention the much-missed Brych and Orsato.

Watching Vincic last night, he stamped his authority, was snappy
with his decision making and seemed very confident.
Him, Kovacs, Marciniak, Turpin and Taylor are the best officials
we have in Europe in my opinion.
