       In most other sports in North America - there is a large part of
       the crowd who are mixed in together (à la Rugby Union over here)
       Will be interesting to see if some of the higher priority games
       will be segregated as we know.
       When I went to a game in Euro 2000 in Belgium - I was in a
       designated “Neutral Section”.

       Decent show from Tello, missed a card for dissent but no
       disasters from the officials tonight.
       As for Rooney disagreeing with Darren Cann about the goalkeeper
       challenge, Rooney is a disgrace and shouldn’t be anywhere near
       this World Cup coverage.

       Ah, good to know.
       If TNT are correct, England have a chance of meeting Scotland in
       the QF (I believe), obviously providing both teams get there.
       Imagine that with a mixed zone…

       I disagreed with him in this instance as it wasn’t a foul in my
       opinion, but I felt the general point he made wasn’t an awful
       one and I could understand where he was coming from, even if I
       personally disagreed. As referees, we frequently tell people
       that getting the ball isn’t the be all and end all, so it would
       be unfair to ridicule him too much for using the same logic
       here.

       Decent I thought, if you forgive the whistling that we will have
       to.
       The pen decision is an either way decision that could be
       justified by your opinion. I kind of feel if he’d given it, the
       ref pundit would have found ways to support and the non-ref
       pundit would have found a way to say it wasn’t. Which isn’t a
       great indictment of either role but shows the complexity of a
       decision at speed.
       I’m happy with the on field decision (discounting the offside).
