- The quite franky disgraceful pitches teams have played
friendlies on so far
- Swiss Camp ‘Snake Zone’
- Thousands of fans being denied entry into the country, after
spending thousands on accommodation, tickets, etc
- FIFA reversing it’s decision to ban reusable water bottles
from stadiums after heavy backlash, including from the NYC
mayor.
And just in: A brushfire has broken out near the Swiss national
team’s training camp in San Diego
Their hotel is located in the yellow “evacuation warning level
2”
What else could possibly happen before a ball is kicked in the
tournament?

Iraq player detained for 7 hours. Iraq photographer detained for
10 hours and then refused entry.
Visa refusals for journalists from Iran, Senegal, Ivory Coast.
Others given only a single entry visa so if they leave the USA
to go to Canada to cover their national team they can't then
return to the USA.

This world cup may go down as one of the worst. The way America
have handled things has been beyond a joke, and will no doubt
harm them for when, if ever, they try and host another World
Cup.

They should immediately be stripped of the Olympics
Any games that can be moved to Canada or Mexico should be and
the US National side should be either expelled or made to play
outside the States

The worst World Cup in my lifetime and it hasn’t even kicked
off.
I’d like to know what idiots put all of Iran’s games in the US.
2 in Los Angeles and the other in Seattle. Surely a bit of
common sense would’ve realised that was a terrible idea.

complaint from his former UEFA boss Michel Platini - SkySports
Obviously, as it’s a criminal matter, I won’t speculate, but it
seems like it’s going from bad to worse for FIFA..

The moment Trump was re-elected, all of this was sadly
inevitable. It may have been less dramatic had FIFA had someone
in charge willing to stand up to him, but sadly we've all seen
Infantino do everything from the MAGA playbook including sucking
up to him, politicising FIFA, and even creating a new 'Peace'
award because Trump wasn't happy at not getting the Nobel Peace
prize. That latter decision will go down as one of the worst
decisions in FIFA history, given everything that's happened with
Israel/US and Iran since then.
It'll be interesting to see what attitude the IOC take following
this chaotic World Cup. This has 48 teams. The Olympics will
feature athletes from hundreds of countries, with some of the
best long distance runners, weightlifters, martial artists,
boxers, etc coming from countries Trump doesn't like, so seems a
recipe for even more widespread chaos...

Genuinely can’t wait til the camera pans to Trump and he’s
asleep in his chair in the stadium. Maybe then the world and the
world’s media who prioritise politics as entertainment will
start to take notice. Until then they’re complicit in this
omnishambles.
