I only now just realised in the 2022 World Cup, every match had
5 officials in the VAR room - VAR, AVAR, OVAR, SVAR and the
SAVAR. Now we are down to three.
Do we think they will up the numbers in the latter stages or
keep it at 3?

VAR - Video Assistant Referee
AVAR - Assistant Video Assistant Referee
OVAR - Offside Video Assistant Referee
SVAR - Support Video Assistant Referee
SAVAR - Standby Assistant Video Assistant Referee
What did they use the Standby for? In-case one got a cramp
whilst sitting down or..?

In Qatar they had a standby at the ground who was sat behind the
technical area in front of a monitor. The VAR room was off site
there and the standby was in case the technology failed and
there was no communication with the VAR room, the standby would
be able to take over from the monitor he was sat at whilst the
techies did their thing to get everything working again.
