Why? It wasn't reckless, and it didn't stop a promising attack
as a penalty was awarded.
If you are going to criticise the referee and say it was a
terrible decision you really should know the laws.

Good overall by Siebert. Lots of decisions to make which isn't
always the case in big finals. I'm sure Arteta will complain
about the penalty that wasn't given but after watching the
replay Madueke pulls the arm of Mendes so VAR right not to get
involved. Break for Siebert now who of course wasn't chosen for
the WC.

Excellent performance by the officials in what must have been
the best European final I have ever seen in my life. So much
better than they used to be in the old days.

I was surprised by the appointment of Siebert, however he has
had an excellent run towards the end of the season and his
performance this afternoon showed how he deserved the final. Its
a pity he isnt going to the World Cup.
Great to see him pick up on the darker arts by the players, the
time wasting and the dissent.
Think he even carded Arteta too if i remember right.
I understand he was going to wear yellow until he saw someone
frowning at him and chose blue instead.
Great advert for Refereeing.

hi,
absolutely no complaints about the final score or the non- noni
madueke 'penalty' (which i hope doesn't give arteta a 'get out
of jail' clause) - on the day, the better team won - although
penalties is always going to be a lottery. congratulations to
psg - winning the ucl in consecutive seasons is a massive
achievement [emoji106]

i disagree with this - are we saying the rules only apply at
different stages of the game? i can point to numerous posts in
this forum that praise officials for taking an early stance
issuing YC's to help set their authority on the match.

Referees are always going to be quite lenient early on in a
final unless they have no real choice. I am not sure it quite
resulted in delaying the restart on this occasion either which
is the only real reason for a caution as it was hardly dissent.
3 times in consecutive rounds this season qf/sf/final. I was
wondering if he would travel on the team coach he is that
familiar with them.

especially in view of DS officiating 5 x psg games since
09.12.2022 [emoji15]
