Webb is getting very close to needing to be replaced imo.
Good work bringing through sg2 to high level but is that’s
friends credit.
Been very rare this season tjat we’ve had a full week without
big controversy and most of them are wrong decisions by var.

Playing devil's advocate, if there was no VAR the outcome here
would be exactly the same as it ended up. And people would be
100% moaning that the match officials made a mistake and they
need help.

But that’s exactly the problem. Referees still can’t get it
right with the benefit of camera angles and slow motion replays
and everything else they have the benefit of.
I could be more forgiving for a referee on the field of play to
miss it. That’s human error for you.
Why should VAR be here when it can’t get simple things like this
right?

Will be interested to hear the mic discussion behind this call.
Easy to blame VAR here - but Tierney appears to have a perfect
view.
If Tierney has described the incident well but decided it’s
reckless rather than SFP, it’s difficult for VAR to come in and
say he’s wrong. In which case I’d put emphasis on poor judgement
on field.
But for sure between referee and VAR they should have got it
right.

Ironically the championship voted down a system of VAR that
would
Operate better than the current system.
Managers challenge and no one in the ear of the ref other than a
replay operator. So the ref makes a decision based on what he
sees not what he is advised to do .

season…

I don't think it is that they can't get it right, rather they
don't know when and where they are supposed to get involved.
Yes, it should have been spotted on-field, but if referees
always got everything right we wouldn't need VAR, it is a very
circular argument. I have zero idea whether PGMO would have
praised VAR for recommending a review here and that is the
problem, they base everything on what the game expects rather
than what the law demands.

As i have said times many dont blame the monkeys its the organ
grinders where the issue is and it stems from right at the top.

Ryan Christie look away - as close to being an identical
incident as you can, and he is correctly missing the last 3
games of the season having rightly been given a red.
