Just when the game itself needed a quiet and controversy free
weekend. Wow. I can’t believe that anyone was expecting that
after the review. Blatant handball, away from his body. Controls
the ball. Goal scored. I’m sure the powers of be will come up
with some obscure interpretation which backs the ref. I don’t
       support either team .

In terms of whether or not it should be allowed or disallowed, I
think the law pretty much backs both sides. I really really
really hate the phrase ‘what football expects’ but it gets
rolled out from time to time. But I think most in football would
have expected this to be disallowed.
But it does prove just how much of a mess the powers that be
have made of handball. IFAB mainly, but local associations also
have to take their share of the blame

If it hit his hip first then on to his arm I can see why
Salisbury has given the goal. Can understand why people will
want it to be handball though.

I'll put a question out there, Oliver or Taylor are VAR and send
Salisbury to the monitor, is he still disallowed it??

How can you watch replays over and over again and reach the
decision he’s not controlled the ball using his arm ?. Absolute
       nonsense
Handball law needs to be revisited because the var atm is
       killing the game

At least he acknowledged it came off his arm, but I’m with
Donohue here I don’t see how that’s not a handball offence

I don’t know what sort of question that is…
It could be Pierluigi Collina in his ear for all that matters.
He is the referee, it’s his call.

Out of interest, why does the handball law need revisiting
because VAR is killing game? I don’t disagree that handball
needs looking at, but I don’t understand the correlation

Not deliberate, not unnatural position, player whose arm it
       touched didn't score. Goal.

100% agree about Mr Neville. His comment of “What’s he doing?
Get on with it” was so unbelievably unprofessional I couldn’t
actually believe he said it. It’s a terrible look for a
broadcaster and I think further proves that the pundits
shouldn’t be commentating on their own teams.
The goal itself is a difficult one. I think the decision comes
from trying to define handball as accidental or deliberate. Of
course the handball is accidental but the point is that if his
arm wasn’t in that position, he wouldn’t have had control of the
ball. If I was the referee, I probably would’ve disallowed it
onfield but a real tough decision because of how the law around
       handball is written.
