A MADLEY - Fulham v AFCB

Just seen the foul on Castagne which resulted in VAR coming in
to upgrade Christie to a red card.
Nasty challenge and deserved.
Madley had been good in the first half. In control and hardly
noticed.

Definitely a red for Andersen too. Stupid challenge to make.
Not sure why he’s getting grief from both ends. Both correct
calls.

Just seen both challenges. I would agree both correct
interventions from Paul Howard on VAR. Once again proving him
and Massey-Ellis are our best VAR team.
Christie one - lunging in with full contact above the ankle.
Andersen one - two footed challenge with force.

Christie raked his studs down his Achilles. Nasty and deserved
the red.

Should both be spotted on field for me.

Once again a SG1 official struggling to detect SFP in real time
tho. It’s a comment that’s come up many times before.
I have not seen the first red but the second of the 2 should be
picked up in real time for me.
To be sent to the monitor twice in one game for SFP challenges
that need upgrading as a top level official is not a great day
at the office.
We keep hearing they are marked on their on-field decision but
it seems more and more they want to go yellow to keep 22 on the
pitch and see if there is enough evidence to upgrade.

Too miss one Red Card is bad enough but too miss two in the same
game is not what you would expect.
He wont have VAR to bail him out on Tuesday in the Play offs.

Mike Dean bordering on scathing on the live show, and bang on
the money.

I’m sure someone who is more involved in officiating could
clarify whether the officials are under instruction or some kind
of coaching to stick with yellow and not go to red?
It does seem to be an emerging pattern of the safety first or
unsure yellow carding of SFP.
From my view in the Riverside, albeit in the upper tier 32 row
back, I couldn’t clearly see both red offences, but obviously
the officials on the field would have a much better view.

You did at least have your own VAR TTFL!
